You are likely having the same problem that I am. Just to make sure, what are your current print speed settings? The problem I am having is that no matter what speed I set my printer to it doesn't change the actual speed the carriage moves at (so not really reading my speed settings). This causes the exact same symptoms you're seeing. I'm presently working to fix this, so if you find your speed settings aren't changing I'll keep you updated.

Sweet seeing all of your prints though, thanks for posting them!

Greg,

Just wanted to clarify, did you end up hooking up the bed based on that guide? How is it working? I just ordered all the parts to do it. There is one question I have, how long does it take to heat the bed to about 60C? Also in the guide it says to download files located "here" but there is no hyperlink, do you know the hyperlink for the download? Just trying to prepare ahead of time, everything comes Saturday Morning and I intend to have it prepped and hooked up soon after the parts arrive. Cheers

Hey all, I think the reason you aren't able to alter the print speed is Slic3r changes the values in the GCode.

When I slice with a different slicer, I am able to alter the print head speed, and it does respect the speeds when the printer interprets the GCode.

I wonder if ther is a way in Slic3r to alter the speed there?

Both cura and slic3r do not change the speed settings for me. When I run the created gcode the speeds are incorrect even though the gcode reflects the correct feed rate. When entered manually, it's find. I think there's an issue with G1 commands, still working on confirming

No, i have not. I tried using the silicone pad I bought and hooking it up as per the instructions but it drew too much power and would shut down the Boxzy's controller as soon as it tried to heat.

My external power supply just showed up so when I get some time I'll be setting that up. Basically I'll be loosely following the process outlined here: http://flashgamer.com/hardware/comments/adding-a-heated-build-platform-to-your-ultimaker
